Lyrics Analysis

You wanna play, you wanna stay, you wanna have it all

You started messing with my head until I hit a wall

Maybe I should've known, maybe I should've known

That you would walk, you would walk out the door, hey!

Said we were done, then met someone and rubbed it in my face

Cut to the part, she broke your heart, and then she ran away

I guess you should've known, I guess you should've known

That I would talk, I would talk

But even if the stars and moon collide

I never want you back into my life

You can take your words and all your lies

Oh oh oh I really don't care

Even if the stars and moon collide

I never want you back into my life

You can take your words and all your lies

Oh oh oh I really don't care

Oh oh oh I really don't care

I can't believe I ever stayed up writing songs about you

You don't deserve to know the way I used to think about you

Oh no not anymore, oh no not anymore

You had your shot, had your shot, but you let go

Now if we meet out on the street I won't be running scared

I'll walk right up to you and put one finger in the air

And make you understand, and make you understand

You had your chance, had your chance

But even if the stars and moon collide

I never want you back into my life

You can take your words and all your lies

Oh oh oh I really don't care

Even if the stars and moon collide

I never want you back into my life

You can take your words and all your lies

Oh oh oh I really don't care

Oh oh oh I really don't care

[Cher Lloyd]

Yeah, listen up

Hey, hey, never look back,

Dumb struck boy, ego intact

Look boy, why you so mad

Second guessin', but should've hit that

Hey Demi, you picked the wrong lover

Should've picked that one, he's cuter than the other

I just wanna laugh, cause you're tryna be a hipster

Kick him to the curb, take a Polaroid picture

But even if the stars and moon collide

I never want you back into my life

You can take your words and all your lies

Oh oh oh I really don't care

Even if the stars and moon collide

I never want you back into my life

You can take your words and all your lies

Oh oh oh I really don't care

Oh oh oh I really don't care

DEMI LOVATO- REALLY DON'T CARE FT. CHER LLOYD

"Really Don't Care", sang by Demi Lovato, which also feautures Cher Lloyd- presents a song about the break up between herself and her ex-boyfriend. It expresses her emotion towards him, which is anger and begins to tell us the story of how it ended and how he got his Karma. It also makes references to how she is better off without him and is much happier. Although the song is supposed to be about her heartbrake, the song is very up beat and positive which relates to the genre of dance-pop. This therefore creates a positive atmosphere and mood which will support her female target audience that may have been in the same sitaution.

Verse 2

This verse begins to tell the audience that her ex-boyfriend moved on from their relationship straight away, but he got struck back by karma- "cut to the part, she broke your heart"

Chorus

Within the chorus Demi is able to express her anger towards her ex-boyfriend. She explains that even if there was an explosion she still wouldn't ever want him back- "even if the stars and moon collide i never want you back into my life".

Verse 3

In this verse Demi expresses her irritation to her past actions, as she wasted her time on him. However she is able to realise that she deserves so much more than him.

Verse 1

In this verse Demi begins to explain that her ex-boyfriend misled her in their relationship and ended up breaking her heart and begins to express that she should have known better.

Verse 4

Within the verse Demi explains how she is no longer afraid of facing her ex-boyfriend and that he should regret ever breaking up with her.

Cher's rap

Cher is able to show her dedication and friendship with Demi through her lyrics, by backing up Demi. This is because she also implies that her ex-boyfriend is a fool for breaking up with her and also begins to insult him. This represents girl power as these two females are sticking together.
